pre-Canada Cup

We leave a week today for Canada Cup in Kamloops. I’m excitednervous. It’s my first meet since Worlds, so I feel like expectations are high. I feel like I’m just as good or better than Worlds (excited), so I hope I can live up to it (nervous).

I have started reading a new book, The Pursuit of Excellence, and I’m looking forward to having some time to read it this weekend and next week leading up to CC!

I’m also making some changes to my “support staff” and I’m looking forward to new, different, exciting things. Making these changes are scary, but necessary. No ones looking out for you more than yourself. If someone isn’t giving you the best, hold yourself to a high enough standard to strive for more.

I was looking for a throwback picture today from an old Canada Cup since it’s coming up again next week. My first Canada Cup was in 2006 (I just realized, not 2007) so that means next weeks is my 10th. Beyond. I’ve been so nostalgic lately – trying to figure out my life and such – and it’s crazy to think that I’ve been in this sport so long, competing nationally for 11 years, 10th Canada Cup, etc. I don’t know what’s next, but for right now it’s pretty damn crazy still.
